In 2004 the Executive Comittee decided to chose Munich as the place where our IGLD should celebrate its centenary.
The local Bavaria Lodge at Munich was chartered on 2 February 1878. Already 30 years later it had grown considerably, was known for its hospitality and its beautiful lodge building located in Wurzerstrasse 8.
It was this location, where the foundation of the International Grand Lodge of Druidism took place in 1908. Unfortunately, the infrastructure was completely destroyed during World War II.
Many brothers remember 1983 when IGLD was again present at Munich to honour the 75th birthday of our organisation. Our Bavarian Brothers were proud to host so many brothers from all over the world, among them GP Carl-Erik Dittmer, Sweden.
